Walk n Talk

Newy Birth Trauma Walk & Talk

We're joining the walk and support for those impacted by birth trauma! On Sunday 24th July, our team is walking to raise funds for the Australasian Birth Trauma Association (ABTA).

Lets do this together! We will start at 12pm meet at Customs house to start laps between the ocean baths, Nobby’s breakwall & along the foreshore.

Walk at your pace, walk with your prams, fur babies & friends.

Imagine a sea of ABTA t-shirts… imagine the conversation it will start.

The ABTA is a peer-led community dedicated to helping Australian and New Zealanders prevent and heal from birth-related trauma. The ABTA does this through advocacy, education, research and peer-led support.

1 in 3 Australian women identify their birth as traumatic and research suggests that 10-20% of first-time mothers may suffer major irreversible physical birth trauma. Anyone can experience birth-related trauma including people giving birth, partners, friends and family members of people giving birth and other people witnessing a birth or providing care in relation to pregnancy and birth, including health professionals. It's likely that you know someone who has experienced birth-related trauma.

The ABTA is almost entirely funded by donations and I hope to raise vital funds and awareness for them. Please donate to my fundraising and every dollar will help ABTA expand their support services and reach more people in need.

For too long women and families have suffered in silence, but the power is in sharing our stories and using our voices so other people don’t need to walk this journey alone.
